Beautiful two-color necklace. Made of white and maroon spondylus beads, jointed on four rows, with a two-color bird pendant. Great care to details: wings, tail, beak.
Spondylus beads are from Narino culture, Colombia, circa 800 A.D.
Spondylus bird pendant is from Moche culture, Peru, circa 600 A.D.
Spondyuls in Andean regions shows trade's existence between coasts and lands. In Pre Columbian beliefs, spondylus has power, tied to rain.
